Welcome to Elementary Art!
Hello MCS families!
I'm looking forward to another colorful year of creating beautiful things with your kids! I hope to help our students learn, enjoy, and appreciate art as well as discover how it connects to the world around them. We'll be exploring famous art, artists, and movements from around the world, participating in collaborative projects, exploring various media and techniques, and creating our own unique work using the Elements & Principles of Design. We're also going to be doing our best to really put the "A" in our little STEAM school!

Perhaps you have a special talent you'd like to share (i.e., sewing, woodworking, painting, a special art form or craft)? If so, please reach out! Guest speakers are always welcome and can be a great source of inspiration for our artists. All supplies will be provided, but we do love donations of all sorts, so if you have something you think we can make art out of please let me know!
And finally, in order to provide the best possible learning environment, we'll be developing our guidelines for behavior on the first day of class. The guidelines are pretty straightforward so please review them with your child at home. They spell out ARTIST!
