Description
Monday - Friday 3:00pm-7:00pm (hours may be flexible). School Days only, but some additional days may be required. 20hrs per week
Cleaning and Maintenance (After Hours):
Clean classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and other areas of the school when students and staff are not present.
Restock toilet paper, hand towels and soap in all classrooms and bathrooms.
Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors to ensure the school is ready for use the next day.
Empty trash bins and replace liners.
Dust and wipe down surfaces, including furniture, windowsills, and fixtures.
Disinfect high-touch areas, such as desks, table tops, doorknobs, and light switches.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, toilets, and mirrors. Wipe down bathroom stalls and walls as needed.
Clean and sanitize classroom sinks and sink areas.
Disinfect water fountains daily.
Lunchroom: Disinfect tables, sweep and mop floors.
Wash windows and clean glass doors.
Monthly spraying of surfaces for intensive disinfection.
Other cleaning duties as assigned.
Building Maintenance:
Report maintenance issues (e.g., broken lights, plumbing, or heating problems) promptly to the supervisor.
Conduct routine inspections and perform minor repairs like changing light bulbs, fixing clogged drains, or adjusting door hardware.
Monitor inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies and request new stock as needed.
Check for safety hazards and take corrective actions as required (e.g., ensuring exits are clear, equipment is properly stored).
Safety and Security:
Lock and secure doors, windows, and access points to the building at the end of the workday.
Follow security procedures for setting alarms or monitoring surveillance if applicable.
Ensure all school areas are safe and secure for the next day’s use, including checking for hazards (water spills, equipment malfunctions, etc.).
Ensure that fire extinguishers and other safety equipment are maintained and accessible.
Event Setup and Breakdown (As Needed):
Set up classrooms, meeting rooms, and other spaces for scheduled after-hours events or activities, arranging furniture, chairs, and necessary materials.
Clean up after events, returning spaces to their normal condition.
Other Responsibilities:
Respond to emergency requests for cleaning or maintenance during after-hours shifts.
Occasionally assist with setting up or organizing the storage of supplies or equipment.
Maintain a clean and organized custodial closet and cleaning equipment.

Qualifications:
All candidates must have:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent communication skills in English
Previous custodial experience preferred, especially in a school or similar setting.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting heavy objects and using cleaning equipment.
Ability to follow instructions, work independently with minimal supervision.
Basic knowledge of cleaning materials, equipment, maintenance procedures and safety protocol.
Willingness to go above and beyond to ensure the safety of Moscow Charter School students.
The ability to pass a criminal background check clearing you to work in a school setting.
