Suggested Donation: Reductions in state funding due to the recent recession have critically threatened the specialty programs in art, music, movement, and technology which are so central to the MCS experience. In order to maintain the specialty programs, the MCS Board of Directors approved a suggested donation in 2010. The income from this suggested donation supplements the budget for our specialty programs, as well as our STEAM curriculum.
The suggested donation approved by the MCS Board, is a minimum $205. (If you are unable to pay the entire suggested donation, we ask that you pay as much of it as you can.) Donations can be paid over the course of the school year.
MCS is a public school and non-profit corporation; Please ask for a receipt when paying any donation to the school and consult with your tax professional about how to claim these donations on your annual tax filing.
Attendance: Moscow Charter School has an accelerated curriculum that requires daily attendance for satisfactory achievement and extended opportunities in the arts, language, and physical education. Tardiness and frequent absences, regardless of the reason, have a major impact on student learning. Absences also have a negative impact on school funding, which is based on daily attendance levels. Absences are recorded on Student Report Cards. If a student has ten (10) absences in a semester the student will be dis-enrolled from MCS; except in cases of family emergencies or for medical reasons.
